The Jaguar Sees an Easy Meal. The Hare Knows Better.
The Hare Trigger Display Case brings a clever twist to the traditional wooden pistol display case. Deep in a sunlit forest, a hare rests comfortably on a moss-covered rock, his pipe sending wisps of smoke into the air. A jaguar stalks through the trees nearby—but this is no ordinary predator-and-prey encounter.
Look closer, and the revolver at the hare’s side reveals another part of the story. His calm expression isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s confidence with something behind it.
Artwork Inspired by The Edge
The design draws inspiration from the rabbit-and-panther riddle in the 1997 movie The Edge. The film’s answer to why the rabbit is unafraid is simple: he is smarter than the panther. Our artwork builds on that idea of intelligence over brute strength, reimagining the encounter with a hare, a stalking jaguar, and a distinctive addition of our own.
Why Is the Hare Smoking a Pipe?
The pipe represents composure in the presence of danger. In our interpretation, the hare isn’t relaxed because danger doesn’t exist. He is relaxed because he doesn’t consider himself helpless.
His upright ears suggest awareness. His easy posture conveys patience. The holstered revolver adds a message of preparedness and self-reliance: he can choose peace without depending on the predator’s goodwill.
He isn’t chasing trouble, showing off, or trying to intimidate anything. He’s simply enjoying his moment in the woods—with the quiet confidence of someone who has considered what might come next.
That contrast is the heart of Hare Trigger: a peaceful character who should never be mistaken for a defenseless one.
A Wooden Pistol Display Case with Character
The case’s rustic wood tones, exposed corner joinery, leather handle, and dark metal hardware complement the artwork’s warm forest light and richly detailed foliage. Moss-covered trees, curling pipe smoke, and the watchful jaguar reward a closer look, making the lid as much a conversation piece as the case itself.
Relic Wood’s gifts are handcrafted in the USA, bringing American craftsmanship to a design with personality and meaning.
Whether chosen for your own collection or given as a birthday, Father’s Day, retirement, or Christmas gift, the Hare Trigger Display Case is a memorable choice for handgun collectors, outdoorsmen, and anyone who values a cool head over a loud display.
A little wit. A steady nerve. A reminder not to underestimate the quiet one.
