Our “Vegvísir Nordic Compass” White Oak Box is an extremely limited edition item made from reclaimed White Oak.
A vegvísir (Icelandic for ‘sign post, way finder’) is an Icelandic magical stave intended to help the bearer find their way through rough weather. The legend of this Nordic Symbol is that if you have the Vegvisir rune compass with you, then you cannot get lost – even if you don’t know where it is you are going. Wrap your head around that. The symbol is attested in the Huld Manuscript, collected in Iceland by Geir Vigfusson in Akureyri in 1860, and does not have any earlier attestations according to Wikipedia.
